#116/365 Shelter
Spring normally doesn't last too long over here. The nice spring weather lasted only few weeks, and then summer took over! The sun was blazing and I took a brief moment to shelter from the heat in the Inst. of Science and Tech., the former Synagogue. The air was cool and completely not affected by the heat outside..ah, nice!

#114/365 Valentino Kávéház
Valentino cafe is one of the few outlets in our town who has joined the Suspended Coffee programme. Unfortunately, on the day we wanted to contribute to this programme, which was Sunday, it was closed. Next week then..

#113/365 City Daily Photo Theme Day: St. George's Day
Officially we celebrate the day of Saint George, the Dragon slayer, on April 24th instead of 23rd..
On the 24th, we have Day of the Police which honors St. George as their patron saint. On the same day, it is also where men named György (George) celebrate their Name day.
We had a tough time finding any official events for this day and googling came to zero!
Finally, our nephew little George came to the rescue :D . He celebrates his first name day tomorrow.
Happy name day Gyurika (George's nick name)!
Click here to view all entries for this theme day. And I'll get around to your entries in a bit...

#112/365 Cifra Palota
Cifra Palota, pronounced chif-ra pa-lo-ta, means ornamental palace.
Could you believe this was an apartment building before its transitioned to become the town's gallery?
We've been inside once, and the interior is as ornate as the exterior. Let's see if we could make it this summer again to show you around the inside.

#110 The one with the love locks
Have you heard or seen Love locks ?
We, ourselves, have bought lock and placed at one of the towns in Balaton lake, a Hungarian holiday destination. But to our surprise, we stumbled upon our town's very own purpose-built love locks' gate!
We look forward to seeing the love locks grow. To those who are interested, you can find this gate right outside the town's theatre.

#109/365 The one with the clown
This clown was walking all over the centre just now. I'm not sure where he came from, as there are no circus or carnival near by. I have to say I was excited to have captured this, it is not everyday you see a clown!

#108/365 The one with an "E"
"E" in Tesco, the well-known hypermarket. My guess is these men were doing maintenance job on the signage.
#107/365 The one with the Trabi
I kind of like this mustard yellow Trabi!
Trabi, nick name for Trabant, was a vehicle manufactured in East Germany and commonly used during the communist era. In the city, you hardly see Trabant anymore. However, these days, the brand is sought after by the vintage car enthusiasts.

#105/365 Lakastextil
Lakastextil translates to "flat textile" literally. So, no prize for guessing what the shop is specialised in :D- Anyways, I
like the signage. People just don't order signage like this anymore.
When time comes, I hope the owner of this textile shop will choose to
refurbish it instead of putting it to the landfill.

Open for business early Saturday morning. Normally I'd have no problem sitting alone enjoying a cuppa; but I just didn't have the mood for it this morning. Oh well, maybe next weekend.

#99/365 Alive
Let's bring out the colours. Ok, there are no rules that say no colours in winter but somehow, grey/black are my go-to colours during winter days and it seems that most of the population in town have the same idea as well. Finally, I could wear my newly bought spring shirts, coincidentally in peach pink too!

#98/365 Energy
It is not visible if you don't pay attention, but more and more you'll see alternative energy sources are being used on public infrastructure. For example, that mini solar panel is being used to power the digital clock below. And the bulbs for the street lamps have been changed to energy saving type.

#97/365 Once a upon a time
Can I call this building a "former beauty queen"? You can't really see the details because of the back light; however, I still think it has potential despite the visible wear and tear. Someone please give some TLC soon. Also, I love photos with back light, they just give a certain mood.

#94/365 Mixture
How do you feel about the mixing of new and old building together? For me, it will work so long as the buildings from different periods share a common feature.
In the case where it hasn't work, look pretty much like the photo above, I'm afraid. The newer built is actually not so new anymore, probably were added during the 60s and 70s. From this perspective, it all just seem chaotic.

#92/365 CDP Theme day : Pedestrian crossing
This theme makes me curious about the number of crossings scattered around the centre (my brain is full of useless thoughts...). Let's make it easier by starting from where we live to the town square. I counted, based on memory, there are around 12 crossings, for not so big radius !
The one shown above is one of the newest and for that reason also the nicest. The Crossing will take you to Rákóczi Street.
Once again, I'm late in participating CDP theme day; which was yesterday. Anyway, you can see more crossings around the world here.
