#243/365 Counting down to theme day
Monthly theme day (Sept 1) for the city daily photo community is PINK! I thought I'll post photos that didn't make the cut 3 days in advance.
I mentioned photos that didn't make the cut above, well..this wasn't in the "cut". I found her this morning when I was rushing an errand. Didn't even notice the pink until I walk up close. I hope a little girl buy her soon because she is adorable :)

The afternoon Horse parade before the races at the Rákóczi út.
Then later in the afternoon, we went to the race track only to find out that the admission is not free and didn't have money with us at all! and not enough time to run back for some ...gah..Until next year!

Gerbera...Love the sort of ombre effect :) |
I love the mood of the courtyard. Truth be told...I was here more for the architecture! |
An arrangement on the table, why not :) |
another thing I was more excited about, apple plants! |

#233/365 Aug 20th fireworks
Yesterday was one of the national holidays. The tradition is our capital city, Budapest, will throw a huge firework party ; while the smaller cities/towns will have our own mini fireworks show. However, this year the forecast was reading "windy", so no one in our circle knew if there would be fireworks in the capital as well as our own town. Without proper info., we have no plans to go to the main square for fireworks. But it happened as you can see, from our living room window :)

#231/365 Flag throwing
Until yesterday evening I have no knowledge of the tradition of Flag Throwing in the Italian culture. Thanks to the town organiser, we were treated to this art performed by a group name Sbandieratori e Musici di Lanciano. We enjoyed it throughly!

#224/365 Forget me not
Could you believe that we've never known the sculpture existed after seven years of living here?!
Due to the ice-cream parlour, it would be awkward for me to stand there for a closer look without getting strange glares. The best time would be in the coming autumn for close up, fingers cross!

#222/365 Pasta Mia
We walk pass this unit and completely missed this new pasta place! Had to reverse and check out what's on the menu. Couldn't see much as it is not open when we're there. I'm guessing it is a pasta take-away.
I'll try and persuade my better half to test it out next week..stay tune.

#221/365 Hard at work
Some men were on the roof doing routine maintenance since before 6am. Why am I awake at that time? 'cos nobody could sleep in this heat !! The men are still working at the time of posting. As it is, it is not fun to work in this weather condition and to work with a torch, I could only imagine how hot they feel. So, I salute to you, men on the roof!
ps- phew ! finally this blog is up-to-date!

#220/365 That heat
The wet road you see wasn't due to rain but water truck went by to spray water on the road to help ease the temperature. Today we experienced 40°c / 104°F..don't feel like doing anything..

#219/365 Public
When I forgot my hand phone recently, I was so glad to see these. Granted I was doubtful I could make a call (1) I don't memorise phone numbers anymore (2) I don't carry my phone book in my bag...
Anyway, I tried it because I do remember my husband's number. However, I didn't get through because I didn't punch in some other codes ..gah

#217/365 Nothing to see here...
The siren of fire engine is very common noise pollution as we live near the fire department. However, we didn't hear any when black smoke was coming out behind these blocks of flats. Til this morning, we're still unclear what's the reason for the smoke. Well, we're guessing it is nothing to worry about ..

#216/365 Wedding theme
Continuing on yesterday's theme, here I spied in a shot of an international wedding taking place at the main square last year. My guess is marriage of a Scotsman and a Hungarian...duh..

#215/365 Cheat post
Ladies getting ready to catch the bouquet |
Let me explain, I knew we'd be busy attending a family member's wedding on Saturday and yet didn't prepare a post in advance. Digging the archive also yield nothing interesting. Therefore, you see a photo which has nothing to do with our town but at least the wedding was held in a village not far from it ;)
Thanks for your understanding :D

#213/365 Fading
I did a post named beauty in a mess on May 2010, capturing the exact same graffiti. You must check the earlier "pristine" version. The reason I liked it immediately because to me it was beautiful and sad at the same time, also one of the more unique street art that I've seen around here.
At that time I wondered if the question is genuine or just simply art. Three years on, did the artist find his/her answer? I guess I will never know...
